Thanks for speaking out, Matt. Your clear-eyed views, articulated so well and with balance, have given people the courage to speak out against the woke ideology that is blighting our lives in this country. In addition, Nigel Farage and Reform has driven the political agenda this summer, giving the Overton window a good shove in the right direction!
I am in China currently - I do not see China as a bad country? Its people come first, it’s clean pristine and everyone is happy and helpful. Parks and lakes every where well tended, absolutely no litter. Borders are secure. It is communist but not the communism I know - yes there are cameras but I can leave a phone and it won’t be touched - something I cannot do in the U.K. it highlights how filthy, disgusting our once thriving towns have become, and how weak and stupid our government is.
Interesting. And what would happen to you if you protested any part of the CCP official view? Would you be able to set up a Substack like Matthew Goodwin? I think not. And tell me. Do you have any connection with the CCP.
What a stupid comment. I posted what I saw - just happy people with a very good lifestyle. No you can’t protest - but I saw very happy people better than the miseries I see in the U.K. I am not even going to answer your last condescending remark.
I saw the convention(?) with Nigel Farage last night, and if I were living in the UK. he would have my vote. He’s got a plan ready He’s got an assistant who seems to be an attorney. He’s confident and able to answer the Press. And he has a sense of humor.
Mostly, he expressed protection of women and girls, and JUSTICE not to be delayed for them. (This is a major reason why I follow the news in the UK. I heard the story of the rape gangs from a journalist in the USA who interviewed a GBN journalist. My heart breaks every time I hear about this injustice.) ( I am also Welsh and Scottish by ancestry and sense the connection.
Have you been to China or just a keyboard warrior? I thought so. So do you speak with authority - no I thought not. Grab a plane get out here. and it was you so impolite and rude. My post isn’t your is.
Thank you again Matt for being a beacon of hope in this massively sad and helpless country. That this current government can be allowed to remain and continue to destroy my home country is totally unbelievable. Whatever needs to be done to reset the legal parameters of a governments continuing its right to rule must be on the agenda for change, which you so splendidly drive forward. We British citizens watch in despair as it seems that Starmer is being allowed to create a legalistic dictatorship and destroy Parliamentary Democracy - and is able to do this on a mandate of just 20% of the electorate.
I have to say my most fervent thoughts regarding the UK are that you need laws on the books that will prevent your nation from becoming overrun again (except if bad leadership occupies the country as it did in America first four years. We were essentially invaded. President Trump will need at two terms to enforce the laws we have which are quite clear and work whenever a President who is for the People is in the White House.
I don’t know how laws are passed in 🇬🇧, but Nigel recited some perfect ones last night!
be sure to check out a petition on the uk government and parliament petition page call an immediate general election it currently has 987,505, signatures it urgently needs many more it can and must be signed and reshared widely from all over the uk...wales/northern ireland/scotland/england/....
That’s what’s so great about his posts. He gives us the information to feel confident in our debates. That way, we can win the arguments and the battles ahead. Thanks Matt, your substack is worth every penny.
Thank you… and thank you again, for all you have done over recent years. Your research, your data, your articles have not only influenced party politics, but given all of us the arguments backed by statistics and examples to come out from the shadows and discuss these issues and make a case for a fairer Britain.
Thank you, Matt for relentlessly exposing the failures of a ruling class that seems intent on ignoring the will of the people. Your tireless work is a powerful reminder that we have the means to win the war against democracy and free speech.
Matt, look at the story of the Tower of Babel in the Old Testament, and see how it speaks to those today who would try to build new empires and destroy the borders of nation states that God created. As a nation, and Christian nations, we need to call upon God once again to save us.
The Conservatives left have messed up my life since before I was old enough to vote. Ted Heath took us into the EU knowing full well the direction of travel and ambitions of Brussels. He conned us all, including Margaret Thatcher. As soon as she cottoned on, the so called wets and men in grey suits saw her off and gave us John Major who defended Maastricht with the technobabble of subsidiarity. What Maastricht did do was to finally legalise EU stealing British fish. Until then, the EU claimed that fish processing included fishing. It did not. For 20 years, the vast EU fleet of fishing vessels stole our fish on a scale that nearly caused a collapse.
The Conservatives put up VAT on the grounds that Labour's black holes needed filling, which was fair enough. The funny thing is that said holes never were filled, so tax stayed high. Blair sowed the seeds of the destruction of our nation and civilisation and when the Conservatives turned up again, up went VAT again. Then we had Brexit and the Conservatives did their level best kill it. They failed, so instead, they screwed it up, ably aided by Starmer and Labour. Labour came back and guess what? Up went taxes and the economy headed down the U bend at an ever increasing velocity.
Now we have a tough Home Secretary who is going to sort out the illegals and all the ogther problems. Sorry, no. She was on the support Palestine picket line, so we know where her loyalty really lies.
We know what a train crash Labour is. I feel sorry for those stupid enough to vote for Flip Flop Starmer. The Conservatives imagine that by gobbing off at their conference they will win back the electorate. Sorry, it ain't going to happen. The electorate is not stupid and has a long memory and will no longer fall for the usual tactic of nicking other parties' policies. Most Tories are a total, traitorous waste of space and the sooner the good ones like John Redwood, Ian Duncan Smith bring their knowledge and expertise to Reform the better.
The voters have made up their collective minds as to where the country goes next and it will take something cataclysmic to change that mindset. What in fact will happen is that more ghastly offences will be visited upon the innocent and law abiding causing more and more voters to see the light. Between them, Johnson and May wrecked the country and Starmer is happily kocking down what is left.
Spurred on by your success there might now be the need for some more "MG-boots to butts" action on the rape gangs enquiry.
It all seems to have gone very quiet since the announcements in mid-June. I fear that the time will have been used for planning the suppression of the truths, perhaps attempted by the use of tardiness, restrictions and a labyrinthine and limiting set of Terms of Reference. A ToR that amounts to a scope that quietly asserts that "the truth must fit this 'x, y and Z' interpretation"!
-
It is a toxic, foul mix and only the truth can help the country move on. Any lingering sense of cover up would be a disaster. Especially for the Pakistani communities and our longer term peace,
-
For instance
- I also see the Beeb might be shaping up to argue that 'suppression would be a form of compassion to suffering victims'.
- And I wonder what - the enquiry could do if they stumbled across evidence suggesting possible trade-offs involving electoral considerations such as party or postal votes in exchange for silence?
-
- The Muslim council of Britain also appears to say that a good Muslim would not rape girls so there can be no real Muslim involvement. They were all apostates and nothing to see here.
I would like to understand to what extent belief was used by the perpetrators to justify the harm done. It is like the Catholic Church in Ireland. To what extent was there - Doctrinal shielding, - Institutional silence, - Reputational laundering, What matters is not the theology—but the operational use of belief to support harm to outsiders.
-
- There appears to have been a very high trust tribal relationship. This might have been more a driver than the Muslim with the issues of family/tribe overriding everything. Silence , mutual protection and shielding each other. Omerta.
I fear these types of questions might be excluded or avoided.
I see two lines of failed or corrupt responsibility coming from the crime itself.
One goes from the child to the failed monitoring and care through the police and the wider agencies. The councils, the politicians and the government. That one is more easily understood (NOT forgiven) and is in everyone's mind right now.
But the second line goes from these men back into their communities and the religious and social structures that, at best turned a blind eye but also gave them the "immoral compass" to do what they did.
As one of your most faithful followers from France, and a reader of your books as well, I wish to thank you again for your commitment to truth and commonsense and your indefatigable work. Your ideas and concrete proposals will doubtlessly have a profound impact in Britain but also in other European nations, but least France, where I hope more and more people will get to know you, Dear Matthew.

That's encouraging in many ways, and as you say, our "government " is utterly clueless!

If you are a genuine commenter then I would be grateful if you could be a little more polite. If, as I suspect, you are a CCP troll, please go away.
She keeps popping up saying how wonderful China is. I suspect your suspicions are correct.

Enjoyed watching you skewer that Labour clown Peter Edwards on GBNews 20 minutes ago! We need a discussion on Gary Neville too!
Well done Matt, you've done fantastic work.
Thanks Sam
Matt: you've overlooked repealing the Climate Change Act.
Of my various subscriptions I'm thinking this is one of the best spent.

How do you do that? You’ve only just this second been on the telly 😂
That’s what I thought! That guy, was totally out of order, but what’s new , the Left are primed to use put downs and stop debate.
Many people struggle to hold a cogent argument with Matt. They have to rely on insults and change the trajectory of the conversation.
That’s what’s so great about his posts. He gives us the information to feel confident in our debates. That way, we can win the arguments and the battles ahead. Thanks Matt, your substack is worth every penny.
Totally. I don’t know what I would do without him!

Yes I feel my subscription is like counselling !
