The wealth creators are going and the wealth takers are coming. Doom loop is the right word to describe this: we are decaying from the inside. We have governments, both Tory and now Labour, who not only condone this but encourage it. We are in the process of losing our country, as an 84 year old it will not affect me living in deepest Suffolk but I do feel for others who have to endure our foreign looking streets and ghettoes. We do need action and no party other than Reform is taking any notice.

Too small to make a real difference I’m afraid, only Reform has the numbers to make a real difference. That’s the reality.

Every time I read about the asylum seekers I have to wonder why the nation they are seeking it from needs to grant it. The seeker is beholden to the giver and its laws. Tighter laws send people back from whence they came. In the US (with our own problems), this part of our immigration code has always been that asylum has to be religious or political persecution. Evidence needs to support the claim, although a tight story is sometimes believed by the Judge. Additionally, the asylee needs to claim asylum in the closest nation to home that the persecution will not pursue them. It is very difficult to prove an asylum claim in the USA although it does take years to get a hearing before an immigration Judge. The person stays with status of illegal alien until the hearing and approval.

As soon as I saw the BBC trumpeting the fall, I started to question the numbers. We’re clearly being replaced! We all need to contribute to stopping this now!

What would be really useful Matt is first of all to show why the figures for last year were so high, then show graphically the number of indigenous people leaving per year, if this does indeed show that the nett migration numbers are lower due to a higher number of indigenous people leaving then a picture saves a 1000 words.

Hi Michael,

Fully agree a picture is worth a 1000 words. I'm currently working on a manual to try to explain the role of ectopic fat in cardiometabolic health !!! and finding it is very difficult to create these memorable graphics which will stick in peoples brains and encourage them to take action. So yes if in every one of Matts blogs he has one graphic image that would be great but devising them is dificult.

It was always about gross migration and the replacement of talented tax paying predominantly white workers with predominantly Pakistani, Bangladeshi and African unskilled benefit taking immigrants. Ive said for years the only relevant number is gross immigration as it shows the real effect on our economy and crucially our culture.

Vera Lynn:

There’ll always be an England

And England shall be free

If England means as much to you

As England means to me

But England doesn't mean much to far too many people (except as a source of handouts). Updated lyrics:

If England no longer means as much to you

As England means to me

Then England shall not be free

And England will soon not be

I merely like my country now, I USED TO LOVE IT....and that LIKE is rapidly turning to disgust and a growing desire to leave it. I have lost the belief that Reform UK will be able to get into power soon enough to save our country..... these marxist socialists will have completely ruined it by 2029, leaving a shell of the once proud, free country our forefathers fought and died for. That's if they haven't turned us into a communist dictatorship run from beneath by a growing islamist hoard and stopped even more rightful elections.

So Donald Trump is permanently pausing immigration from third world countries. And ending federal benefits to non citizens. Sensible man protecting his country and citizens . No chance of that happening here, making us more of a target destination for those seeking easy street and a country to colonise and ruin .

I have long been incensed by “net “migration . We do not get honesty from our politicians , they present figures they are forced to come up with in a way that spins them in the direction they want the narrative to go . And where possible they do not publish figures at all .

Any credit for improvement in current legal immigration figures is to do with measures introduced by the Conservatives , following their complicity in creating the problem in the first place . Little if anything to do with Labour and their smash the gangs and boomerang one in one out ridiculous measures.

We don’t have an immigration system, we have immigration anarchy and chaos . This dismal failure of a government will do nothing to improve the situation. We require Trumpian or Orban type measures and our only hope currently is Reform .

Meanwhile increasingly our government expect all of us to go to work , or pay rent ( in fact) on our own houses to pay for it all

I've believed for many years that the emigration and immigration of British citizens should be counted amd reported separately from that of foreigners because they are different things. So why are they counted and reported together? To muddy the waters and disguise the size of foreign settlement?

What I can't get my head around is why 'they' are doing this to the country. They must be able to see what the rest of us see. I assume this is just a continuation of 'The Great Reset', break the idea of national pride and patriotism and then they can control us along with the disgraceful Digital ID cards. When we have a government that is even more autocratic or one that is governing following religious ideology then the Digital ID cards will spell real danger to anyone who does not conform. That will mean all of us following Matt.

Yes Jean, it does seem puzzling until we accept the fact that Starmer and his motley crew are in effect inviting these dubious characters in from anywhere in the world, as they turn up on our shores. Once here, they are given so many perks, like hotels, medical care, travel, phones etc, it’s a disgrace !

Starmer has said on many occasions that he has a lot to do, maybe, but his orders are coming directly from Davos and not from the British Electorate, it is a complete and utter shambles, we need an election now, then get Starmer and Co on trial !

This is deliberate, this government lead by a Marxist Haldane society lawyer is pushing forward his globalist agenda. Looking at the trajectory that Matt's statistics show, we are rapidly becoming a third world country, no jobs, no investment, young people with potential leaving, being replaced by a dependent, dull witted and in many cases alien society that is collapsing like a pack of cards. Until we get these communists out, I cannot see any hope for the future.

The brilliant Connor Tomlinson says it as it is: we must be insane to be importing a load of third world men with low IQ and low impulse control. Restore Britain suggests in its paper on Mass Deportations that those fleeing whatever it happens to be should be required to stay on their own continent. That might make the other countries on that continent keener to ensure its stability. The same paper also suggests that we should only be taking asylum seekers from countries directly neighbouring ours, i.e. France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, etc. I would go along with all of the above.

All Britain's neighbouring countries are safe. So nobody is fleeing them. Britain has no obligation to take anyone from them, none at all, zero. Asylum seekers can only seek asylum in countries to which they have travelled directly. They have no right to shop around for the best deal.

I hadn't been aware of Starmer's (and Hermer's?) membership of the Haldane Society. I knew Starmer's Gang is riddled with Fabians, like woodworm or deathwatch beetle. Fabians are bad enough but The Haldane Society is openly anti-Christian and anti-semitic. The Comminists have learned from prior revolutions to be more discete littl woodworms rather than blundering rhinos- apologies to rhinos.

Thanks for the tip.

You are right. What we are witnessing is not incompetemnce. It is deliberate destruction of everything Starmer's Gang hates.

The Government is achieving the desired effect - that of replacing indigenous British people with immigrants, and the emigration of the indigenous population is simply enhancing that programme. What effect will increasing the child benefit have? People will flock here in order to be paid for having babies, but British young people who have no prospect of ever finding a job will leave in ever-increasing numbers.

ONS and all government data is badly in error because they never get results as a by product of normal administrative operations. They make estimates from surveys and guesses from obscure sources.

In the case of immigration the situation is particularly absurd. What could be easier than for the Border Control (sic) agency to record for everyone entering the country who they were and why they had come. Those with time limited permission to be here should be tracked and their departure accounted for on exit data.

As that annoying TV advertisement would say "simples".

Can they do that - no! Either they don't bother recording why people enter the country, from where, what nationality, in groups or alone, with dependents or not, etc, etc, etc or they record it but their administration systems are so weak they cannot or will not extract the results.

A Minister responsible for the borders should have a dashboard which shows dailky, trends and yeat to date data on these matters but clearly no minister now or in the past has found it odd that no such data is provided.

1, Arrested on arrival.

2, Detained in basic, secure accommodation.

3, Deported, from whence they came.

Marco Rubio calls upon European nations to put a stop to mass immigration because it is destabilising their countries. Does America still have the power to decree, to speak to those who wield the solution? I have long pondered who is orchestrating this. Is it Xi? Putin? the UN? The central banks? All of the above? We are very much downstream of the power play that is taking place on the global stage. I can only hope that whoever devised this very effective destruction of our civilisation, is open to persuasion. Who benefits?

That would certainly be a good reason to sound the alarm but I have the feeling that this was meant to be heard by the players who are not just watching this play out but are actively facilitating it, and those, I believe, are above individual governments and their plans span centuries.

It might just be the combined action of lower-scale players in the absence of a government with a long-term plan. Wealth in the UK comes from converting farmland into building sites - it is an uplift in value of up to 200 times. That is an investment return that is impossible to beat and which is highly attractive to both developers and governments. It also comes at limited cost to the developer, who relies on low-wage employees who are subsidised by the government (or rather UK tax-payer). More people equals more pressure to convert farmland and Green Belt.
