I read "The Emperor's New Clothes" quite recently. It was even more relevant to our situation today than I'd expected. I'd heard the story by word of mouth, so I knew anyone who couldn't see the invisible cloth would be considered stupid. What surprised me in the original was anyone not "seeing" the cloth was not only stupid, but also unfit to do their job and would therefore lose it. An exact match for cancel culture! 👍
The controlling of the narrative by subtle propaganda in the media has not just happened overnight it's been going on for several decades. Blair started it and every government since has embraced it. Our political class are drunk on power, drunk on trying to control the population through brainwashing and outright propaganda. Many may now be aware but the problem is that awareness is too late. Too many have apathetically ignored the writing on the wall government now to the greater extent controls the narrative, controls what freedoms (if any) we are allowed and have all but removed our democratic rights. I'm afraid it's going to take more than just sitting talking about it to reinstate all we have lost!
Carole (and Matthew, above), agree with you totally, and to me it's the BRAINWASHING that goes with the narratives that's the awful thing. How have so many people you'd otherwise think had something between the ears got into this cult of sentiment, guilt, blame, cover up, silencing of others, worship of themselves, search for a fairy godmother etc? It's beyond me to understand even if the system of bureaucratic control seems to push that way. Why can't people focus instead on developing real positive relationships and trust in their own lives instead of this grasping at some abstract kind of power which is bound to elude them in any meaningful sense of power over one's own life

Agree with you whole heartedly it's a modern day sickness, one I'm glad to say I don't suffer from, perhaps because I was raised in the military where I was taught you blame no one for what befalls you, you admit to your mistakes, you don't panic when a spanner is thrown in the works I had it drummed into me that good old fashioned saying "keep calm and carry on" together with a large dose of common sense, a concept alien to far too many these days.
Thanks, you've nailed a key underlying issue of knowing what self-discipline is and how to live your life accordingly. It's made me think what's missing in the Reform talk is anything or very little about strategies for the proper teaching of a moral education in schools instead of the nonsense that now passes for literature and history ( Maybe Matt could put some detail on that ?)

Haven’t watched a soap for years and reluctantly watched Adolescence after Starmer raised it at PMQs. I also watched Tip Toe recently which was thought provoking but I felt very biased. What I have noticed is the celebs and journalists who post left wing statements on X in order to “wind up” the decent people of the UK who have turned to X , which is the only place they can vent their genuine concerns. Thank God for John Cleese, Kelvin Mackenzie , Andrew Neil ,Sharron Davies and of course you Matt !

Hi Andy , I managed to watch it, along with millions of others in the world it seems , over the weekend. I notice some are saying it was a poor movie but I think they probably were expecting some Die Hard fiction block buster! I thought it was excellent and further proof that the whole of the West are being subjected to the same agenda . Let’s hope Uwe Boll makes lots of money in order to produce more work on the same lines.
