It is a very very strange culture, in which e.g. the BBC and 'The Rest is Politics' don't engage with something significant at all but simply act as if it doesn't exist. It's like a Jordan Peterson story, with them putting their fingers in their ears and going "nah nah nah" rather than pay any attention to the gigantic dragon in their house. It's not wise. It's not intelligent. It's not even sane. They are just pathetic. But it is also frightening that our culture is in this sorry state. It's hardly acting like a grown-up, is it? It's just teetering on the edge of a cliff, waiting for some four-year-old to push it over so that life can start again with a more sensible generation.
Yes thank goodness for X, Substack etc. No wonder this government is so keen to shut it all down: every time they speak about ‘controls’ on X it sends a shiver down my spine.
I bought it to support the good work Matt is doing. I was however surprised that I had to pay £1.50 extra postage before Royal Mail would deliver. When I received it part of the packaging had been cut off including the postage. Do you think it could have been interfered with? Looking forward with interest to hear next plans.
I also had to pay a fee of £1.50 due to insufficient postage - but that’s the fault of the distributor, not the author’s fault. Maybe someone forgot to include the weight of the packaging when calculating the postage to be paid?
Many congratulations on the success of the book. The book is totally necessary, everything in it needs to be said and the vast majority of people agree with its principles yet are intimidated into silence rather than be called the awful word - racist. Is racism ever justified, is Islamophobia ever justified? I think we who agree with Matt know the answer.
Good questions, definitely time for a public debate on those. Notice how nobody is complaining about the amount of Fascistophobia? If it's acceptable to hate one ideology then it should be equally acceptable to hate any ideology. It's also acceptable to hate the rich. And if you believe actions speak louder than words, it seems antisemitism is acceptable too.
Interesting how all the hate comes from the left who always insist they're the ones who believe in "peace not hate", tolerance , etc. The left is a toxic combination of evil leaders and brainwashed sheep. There's nothing more dangerous then people who believe their cause is so virtuous that the pursuit of it justifies any amount of evil (like covering up for rape/torture/murder gangs, denying / justifying the attack on Israel, etc.) 👍
I liked your book Matt, but I do agree with the critique that there should have been an awful lot more references. You’re an academic, you know how important they are.
I also think class plays a much heavier role in this than it’s being given credit for. There’s a lot of middle class guilt behind the suicidal empathy. For foreign people though. There’s real contempt for the British working class, sadly.

The Internet has broken the establishment's narrative control and independent/ self publishing books is another great opportunity for "our side".

Yes, the label on mine said the weight was 195g, but that, as you suggested, is just the book. 👍
