Well that is surprising (and mildly encouraging) that the European Parliament are willing to listen to you !

Also I’ve been very encouraged by Zia’s comments this week about the scale of removals that could take place under a Reform government. Fraser Nelson did approach the policy in a reasonably balanced way on Times radio yesterday but John Pienar was apoplectic and compared the announcement to ICE and referred to the deaths that had resulted in the US: I texted in to say that Reform has stated that the U.K. unit would not be carrying guns. I also responded to Fraser’s comment that if this was Reform policy (to remove tens of thousands) then the British people needed an honest conversation about this. My response was the only time the British people were given an opportunity to have a say on mass immigration they voted against it in the Brexit referendum.

Thanks for educating us Matt and giving us the knowledge to counter misinformation!

An excellent observation. It will be an up hill struggle but it is being forced upon the nation by our Marxist elite rulers.

Well done Matt. Well done.

As a French speaker involved in police sport twinning, I talk to quite a few people. Until I get to know them, they are extremely wary of expressing views about migration, both legal and illegal. Then they open up and they too recognise that their nation and values are under threat. There is, however, one big difference.

The French tricolour flies from every public building, from the town hall of the smallest village to the local public library. There is no question of the French national flag being labelled as racist. To suggest that is a quick route to getting a slap or six. The loony left, of which there is no shortage in France, have utterly failed to hijack that national flag and that is where we have come unstuck.

Of course, at the root of this problem stands the EU with all its crazy policies about a borderless zone and pretending to be a country with its six presidents and silly flag. Even the US makes do with one president. The EU parliament is complete nonsense. It cannot propose, amend or repeal legislation without permission from the unelected commission, at the head of which is an elected president. From a short list of one, drawn up by the euroblob. Failing to get elected under such a system would be quite difficult.

It all started with Angela Merkel. We must never lose sight of the fact that she was born and brought up in the old DDR and would have been steeped in socialist ideology from the time she could walk, just like modern Britain. She threw open the doors and let in the hordes. If they are going to speak a foreign language, what are they going to speak? English is a huge international language in its own right, thanks to the Empire and is the language of computing and business. Americans are even worse at languages than we are, and that takes a bit of doing. Therefore, they all want to come here. Crossing the Channel is rather easier than crossing the Med.

It is not up to the French to protect our borders. That is our job. Again, like incorporating EU laws, we do everything to our detriment. We could turn 6 paragraphs of EU legislation into a book while other nations all agreed to the measure and then ignored it. Other countries, all signed up to the ECHR, have little trouble deporting illegals so why can we not do so? Lack of will.

We have been led for far too long by elected bureaucrats who have become ever more spineless over the years and now resemble cesspool dwelling jelly fish.

I wonder if we will make it to 2029.

Slightly off topic, so apologies but my copy of your book arrived this week, and I look forward to starting it (once my husband has finished with it). Unfortunately the cardboard envelope it was packed in had been ripped open along the side in a way that could not remotely be described as 'accidental damage during transit'. The book itself was undamaged but it did seem like a deliberate attempt to 'lose' the book along its route. I mention this because I have read of similar occurrences from others here. Thanks for all you do.

I have been waiting for my book to arrive since ordering on 14 March. I received a tracking number from Post Office - but when chasing them was told no such number existed and there was no book there. I have chased twice with you, Matt, but I still do not have my book. If there is evidence of books being destroyed/damaged en route maybe the police should be involved……but, what ever the reason I still want my book asap please…..maybe use registered post this time??

a bit worrrying, mine arrived OK.

Well done Matt, for giving your alarming presentation to the European Parliament. From what I am able to understand, there is a lot of concerned support in countries like Holland, Germany and France in particular. However, the ruling powers in those countries are being severely restricted by the European Community, why I wonder ?

The way that the Islamic infiltrations have been allowed to occur is as a result of decades of planning and organisation; it’s not happened by accident !

I know that the WEF has been supporting this, again I ask why on earth should we plan to destroy of homelands ?

We need to act fast by curtailing all further Muslim activity, no Sharia courts, no more Mosques, no MPs, or Councillors, not born in the UK should be barred from standing in an election, then we need to begin restricting their activities and deport in quantity !

Scary future for our children and grandchildren unless something is done urgently.

With this traitorous government under Two Tier, there is no will to address this issue.

On the contrary, they are actively prioritising foreign invaders over the white British working class.

Recently the government argued, in court, that the rights of immigrant rapists, were more important than the rights of the parents of the children they had raped.....absolutely incredible!

The next election will be the most important election for the future use your vote wisely.

Remember, when a little girl asked her father who he voted for he said...I voted for you.

Mrs Bucket's avatar

The EU won't listen of course, they are hell bent on their Communist 'destroy the West' agenda, backed by the China-owned UN.

Andrew G's avatar

Curious to know if you meet like minded people in the EU and those to follow in a positive direction.

Chesterfield's avatar

Yes, I’m sure that Matt has many similar minded European sympathisers but they are under pressure and severely restricted. Just look at the right wing situation in Holland and Germany, their progress and development has been restricted on many fronts, why I wonder ?

Excellent speech and I'm at least 99% in agreement with it. The only thing that makes me a bit uneasy is the use of that (now hypersensitive) adjective "white" and the use of the phrase "white British". This is purely because, although a hell of a lot of sensible and decent people support Reform etc, there are also those who are nasty and racist, attracted by the magnets of any party "right of centre", if that phrase still means anything. We must guard a good decent civilized society against them. I well remember the 1980s and 1990s. The white British were indeed a substantial minority at that time, but we had no problem with including in the "British" population people from the Caribbean, Nigeria, Hindus from India, Chinese from Hong Kong, Jews from anywhere. The only problem came with radicalised Islam following the evil influence of the people behind 9/11. Our only serious cultural problem is NOT with people who don't happen to be "White British", it is with Islam. All the others are perfectly compatible with the values of Western civilization, and we must remain clear that they are not unwelcome if they go along with that. Which means no sharia courts, no compulsion for face or hair coverings, nothing as revolting as FGM or "grooming" gangs, no attacks on Jewish people or institutions, no objections to criticism or satire of any social or political or religious claims - any!! - etc - that is nothing to do with "whiteness", a word I hate even having to use as it's used by such intensely woke morons, especially in America. It has to be clear that we are on the side of the angels. We support mass remigration for illegals from anywhere. We are not racists and it is not for racist reasons. We support equal legal treatment for all legally resident citizens, whatever their ethnic background. It's about the future for Western Civilization and whatever accommodation may have to be made with legally resident Muslims - not caving in to their 14th-century cultural demands. Or their morality, as, far too frequently, we can hardly say it comes within any Western country's definition of morality.

JSHill's avatar

In the past I had no problem with a sprinkling of ethnic diversity but the numbers have got totally out of hand to the extent that I have passed my rational-emotional threshold and encountering anyone who is obviously of recent immigrant origin irritates the hell out of me. However nice they may be on an individual basis these people are taking up space that we don't have. We would have been better off without them. I am sick of being told that they are contributing to the economy when at the same time they are consuming on average at least as much of the economy as they are contributing. I admit we need to find more appropriate nomenclature but for the time being I find "White British" simple and convenient.

Graham L's avatar

Jesus. "These people are taking up space that we don't have." "These people" have families and children and jobs and feelings and rights. They have "human rights" that we acknowledge because we are human, and not Nazis, and not because of the excessive stupidity of misapplications of a "Convention" on "Human Rights". I'm not talking about a document, I'm talking about morals and decency. Perhaps once there were people saying "for the time being I find Aryan Gentile Germans simple and convenient".

JSHill's avatar

The explosion in the population since the arrival of Blair was due above all to legal economic migration which is what I am talking about. Blair basically said 'have vacancies need immigrants' which is a formula for bringing in immigrants ad infinitum because an immigrant is not only a worker but also a consumer. Part of our problem is the success of Blair in conflating legal economic migrants with refugees, a separate problem. Concerning economic migrants it's important to realise that the ratio of the number of Brits living in a given Western European democracy to the the number of citizens from that country living in the UK tends to vary from 0.5 to 1.5 with the retirement countries Spain and Portugal being around 2. In terms of numbers this is all no problem. The problems started when the EU opened the borders to Eastern Europe resulting in an effectively one way flow. Nearly a million Poles live in the UK and less than 10 thousand Brits in Poland. When Blair started this he mentioned neither low fertility rates nor increasing longevity as a reason. The reason: the fertility rate in Poland was/is lower than in the UK. Blair's pensions commissioner told him that the only way to deal with increasing longevity is to increase the state pension age in the short term and (hopefully) productivity in the long term. So I am sick of being lied to and in no mood to welcome one way streams of economic migrants wherever they come from. They are taking up the space I hoped to bequeath to my grandchildren.

Could I respectfully ask that the name of Jesus not be used as an expletive - thankyou

Graham L's avatar

I'm sorry but if you think that is different from having to cave in to anything that offends the followers of the Prophet, you have not thought about it. Freedom of expression, a fundamental requirement of Western civilized democracies.

Jean C's avatar

Au contraire, I have thought long and hard about it, and am therefore upholding my right to free speech in making a respectful request, unlike those who threaten violence to their opponents.

Graham L's avatar

Fair enough. Politeness is of course given freely and voluntarily, and does not take the form of a rule or restrictive regulation. But you must have a hard time in today's world, which I find hard enough as it is unbelievably foul-mouthed, even without invoking any religious concepts. It's interesting to reflect that "Jesus" was a name given in the Greek world, and in the original, his name was actually Yeshua or Yehoshua or Joshua. If people went around saying Joshua! you presumably would not have the same emotional response, although it was a more accurate rendition of his name. But people are what they are, and have the feelings they have, whether rational or not.

Graham L's avatar

Sorry, typo, I meant that the white British were a substantial majority at that time, not "minority"!

David Asquith's avatar

The greater part of the responsibility for our predicament here in UK lies with our left-liberal political activists. Well done for pointing to the European approach to human rights as part of the problem.

Ann Marie's avatar

Well done- very glad you and your book are getting publicity beyond these shores. Maybe others outside the UK will call out the madness of recent years and halt the tsunami of ‘progressive’ damaging and suicidal policies.

Jonathan Ward's avatar

As hard hitting as it could possibly be, what a coup to address the European parliament (?). Can we hope that democratic opinion on this subject will now allow a discussion of the problem. It is clearly not a problem unique to the UK, it is significantly worse in some other European countries, notably Sweden where they were even more reluctant to recognise the facts than ourselves in the UK. If we fail to act we will lose our country to a totally alien and incompatible religion: it is in your hands - I am 85 but concerned for my grandchildren - who are not as concerned as they should be because of our so called education system.

Chris Hacking's avatar

Excellent speech Matt. Didn’t realise you were from Watford (Grotford) like me!

Hopefully with Labour support falling apart we will get an earlier GE and a Reform government who will start to implement the changes necessary to stop the suicidal policies of our Great British Nation.

I feel that changing the demographics of the blob will be the toughest nut to crack. As we are infiltrated by the far Left in most of our institutions.

N White's avatar

The impression I get is that Reform might slow the suicide a little but hasn't the bottle to reverse it.

Colin Martin's avatar

The EU is like an old person who has passed their usefulness as an employee, but who is determined to carry on working even though they are a drag on the company. When we 'left' the EU I, and all my fellow Leavers, expected Britain to follow the USA and become a dynamic, competitive economy, but instead we stayed firmly shackled to the EU, like a useless child that refuses to leave home, and gradually sank with the bloc.

Barrie Bowen's avatar

Very courageous speech Matt, well done. Any chance you could GBN would let your repeat on State of the Nation as it seems totally relevant to that programme.

Dear Matthew,

Your speech before the European Parliament was excellent as well as deeply moving because it reelected your courage and eagerness to defend your country as well as the best of our Western civilisation. I am curious To know how the speech was received by the audience.
