Dear Matthew,

I have just finished watching your interview on Spectator TV. I thoroughly agree with you on all the points you made . What I truly appreciate is your being such an outspoken and articulate personality. That is why I respect you so much and feel proud to have been a member of your Substack community since its inception.

Best wishes.

Jean-Bernard

Gove himself has been at the very heart of the destruction of Britain.

A great example of why conservatives across the West never ever actually conserve ANYTHING.

100%. Said elsewhere I believe (which even Gove himself refers to viz London)

One of the few foreign countries one can get to from England without getting on a plane.

Gove's questioning clearly showed the Conservative postion on immigration, that is we have to do it better, without actually addressing the real question of why we have to do it at all.

It shows why the Conseravatives must not be trusted on this subject.

One question I think that needs to be asked is "What is the end game?".

England is just 50,000 square miles,so what is the population that even the cheer leaders of mass immigration have to accept is too high , 80 million, a 100 million, more?

Excellent interview Matt, as always. Just wondering why it is only the English who have to justify having and wanting a nationality of their own and why it is perceived as being wrong to be proud of it?

This is an excellent interview. I should love to see Matt in Government and shaping national policy. In my view he is already a "young national treasure!"

Thanks to Michael Gove for ramming home the point that the Conservative party is totally lost to the liberal cosmopolitan class. Time is running out. If it is lucky and brave British culture and values might get one last chance to avoid extinction.

Thank you Matt for a most absorbing interview. I was left wondering at the end how it was that Mr Gove gave not the slightest hint of his own views on immigration.

Totally agree with Jean Bernard. Disagree with Evola’s view of Michael Gove. Yes, he’s out for himself but he’s a very shrewd operator and experienced politician. His work as Education Secretary was about raising standards not colluding with the constant dumbing down we’ve seen for too long. Reform would do well to have him inside the tent! Reform needs experienced politicians if it’s going to govern well. Whether Farage could tolerate them remains to be seen.

Brilliant demonstration of how Reform voters aren’t thickos Matt. Thank you.

Thank you Matt and Michael, Starmer keeps saying “ I get it” , he doesn’t but you do !

Every word was music to my ears and gives me hope.

I voted for Blair and then Thatcher but I would never vote for any of the main parties again , for the reason you pointed out. They are all stuck in the stranglehold of the HO and Westminster archaic procedures.

What we all need to know is who exactly is it who is running the HO and how have they got such control ?

Excellent articulation of your ideas - I can’t wait until you are running the Home Office! I have always felt English first and British second and your differentiation legally, historically and culturally makes perfect sense. I feel this more than ever when I return to London, a City I’ve lived and worked in most of my adult life - sights, sounds and behaviours not familiar, not comfortable, not considerate, not safe and not England as I have known it. Keep informing and influencing through facts and trends as you do so well. Thank you

The 'factory reset' part of the interview (~59 mins) is the killer line in this interview and I think it sums up the sentiment in the country right now. In particular, the notion that the Conservative parliamentarians are incapable of delivering such change, given the dominance of the Wets/closet Lib Dems, is especially pertinent given the failure of Sunak's premiership.
