To be honest - and I say this with hesitation as it’s not something that should be said lightly - given the level of anger I know people feel, I think if the Russian government promised to “remove” the British Establishment there would be some who now welcome that.
You really can make a case that the Establishment has been committing acts of terror against the people of this country by allowing the continued mass rape of women and girls. Rory Stewart really crystallised the callousness in his disgusting remarks that it was essentially just a management issue.
Why would anybody fight to save a country only for it to be given away to foreign nationals …. I’m gearing up to leave and encouraging my children to do the same ….
I feel the same Chris, but the question is where to move to? America has high levels of gun crime, Australia, New Zealand and Canada are as woke as the UK. The globalists agenda is being rolled out relentlessly across the western world.
Here we go again. The political class deciding that we must get involved in a "war" . It won't wash in this country any more. We, the ordinary people, have no quarrel with the Russians. Ukraine is not our war, and I am not even convinced which side is the aggressor. I don't think our young people have the mental fortitude to fight any kind of war, there is no sense of duty and no way of life to defend. The politicians are also talking in terms of a conventional war where boots on the ground count. We now have technology which needs skills and training to use. Strength in numbers doesn't really count. All they need to do is wipe out our power supplies or Comms infrastructure and the country is done for. I doubt there will be a genuine war, if there is you can be sure the political class and elites will cash in and we will reap what has been sown these last 50 years...
Ukraine's borders matter more than ours. Defend our borders and you are far-right. Defend Ukraine's, and you are a hero. No thanks Tobias Ellwood and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
By fighting for your country, it's an euphemism for are you ready to DIE horribly fighting for the values of the present leadership of England. The overwhelming answer from patriotic English men is no. For antifa, stand up to racism, hope not hate types and pro Palestinian supporters, the answer is also no for the possibility of dying for the nation state. Either way, the country cannot nor will it be defended in a war or can be in the current situation.
I wouldn't "fight" a punchbag in a gym for 5 minutes for the scumbags in Westminster, for what they perceive (I mean "decide" of course!) is the "national interest". Though I might well get into that fight - for rather longer - to relieve my feelings about the scumbags.
I'm not sure that all this media/politics nonsense actually means what it says. I suspect that it is in itself warfare: psychological warfare, against us. Designed to make us feel angry, uncertain, confused, so that we can't wonder why nothing works in the UK any more. "Dontcha know there's a war on? Or soon will be? Pipe down!"
War with Russia has shown itself to be a protracted affair. The industrial strength of the nation would be a very significant factor. There is a strong correlation between industrial power and energy abundance. Net zero is national suicide in an existential war against an industrial superpower.
Would I fight for this country? No way, nor would I encourage my grown up children to fight for this country, which I now feel ashamed of. What a terrible state of affairs. Its got to the point where I would welcome a Russian invasion and takeover, to save us from ourselves.
I suggest the government get all the people it has so gladly welcomed in to fight for the country . Successive governments have handed them this country, welcomed it, together with preferential status . The reality is you would see mass re migration on a scale that would make your head spin. They are here to take not to give .
I still honour the memory of two great uncles who died in Flanders in WW1 aged 19 and 26 . And I have passed the death pennies and medals etc together with details of graves and memorials to my eldest grandson to look after. He’s going on a school trip to visit the war graves next year
I would not sacrifice a hair on his head to save this country it has already been taken from us. The politicians can send their own kids
The reality is, we would have a chance in a civil war but are not equipped to defend ourselves in any other . We would be totally reliant on NATO
An interesting question, what %age of the people staying in this country will support the opposite side in any conflict? We will be fighting a war on both the inside and the outside of the country with a totally split government.
There is no chance young, disenfranchised, British men are going to fight, and possibly sacrifice their lives when they have been treated and marginalised so appallingly for so long. They can't even protest peacefully against the mass invasion of dangerous, third world criminals, without being labelled Far Right thugs, racists, have Labour MP's screaming their protests group should be proscribed as terrorists or simply sent to jail like Lucy Connolly for a tweet.
This government will bankrupt the country to give away money to people who can't be bothered to get a job, foreign nationals who can't even speak English, illegals arriving on rubber boats, billions in foreign aid, absurd projects 1000's of miles away and yet they won't spend a penny on Defence or protecting our borders. Add to that, the disgusting persecution of military veterans. So, if the time comes when they are looking for young men to show their patriotism and fight for the country, there will be no volunteers from young British men and that is testament to the contempt the government are held in by decent citizens.
So the current lot in power now want the very people they have ridiculed embarrassed and humiliated over 20+ years to drop everything and fight for the people that refused to fight for them ? How’s that work perhaps the 50 or so nationality’s that have walked into our country freely and been substantially rewarded with everything they desire new home ,clothes, car and even there English equivalent to a city they have run away from - home from home- and mostly fighting age warriors will only be to happy to sign up and fight to the death for their “ new home”! I think not as they ran away to get here and they will keep running if it means fighting for the uk !!
