He knows that mass migration is a problem but his only response is that Reform has the wrong answer. He doesn’t have the answer himself but hopes Andy Burnham will - and not just on the migration issue. The problem is that open borders, free movement and welcoming asylum seekers is so deeply embedded in their DNA that to confront the migration problem requires them to confront their core beliefs. And that is to say nothing of those, like many of the charities pushing this, who are backed by money provided to achieve exactly the ends we are seeing. I don’t know how this resolves peacefully want to believe Reform will turn things around so I’ll continue to support them. However, even if we win the next election, this would still be the biggest battle our culture has ever faced.

This week Elisabeth Oakeshott and a cameraman visited the French beaches to record how the French are “stopping” the invasion. They spoke to two police officers who told them that their bosses had told them not to attempt to stop the migrants. At midnight they carried on filming and watched migrants trying to get onto a huge rib, there were that many the boat grounded in the sand. A French helicopter flew overhead and floodlit the sea to assist the migrants. Meanwhile a french navy boat was waiting offshore to escort the boat to UK waters. Unfortunately there was an accident in the mayhem and several migrants fell in the water, one drowning apparently. Very quickly a number of police cars arrived, ambulances and fire engines all to rapidly assist the migrants.
