You need a warmer coat Matt.

Best of luck, you deserve it.

Ha ha, that was exactly my reaction, how cold they must be! But the turquoise tie needs to shine through so no scarf allowed!

I’m hoping my OH and I can join you canvassing at the weekend, we were meant to join you last Saturday but we have nasty colds which we didn’t want to inflict on potential Reform voters 🤧🤧Hopefully will see you on this coming Saturday , we don’t want to miss out on this historic occasion, we want to tell our great grandkids we did it for them 👊🥳

Well we did it! We went today to be Tellers at one of the polling stations. The journey over there was horrendous, absolutely chucking it down and traffic jams and it took much longer than expected . We stood outside for 2 hours but we would do it over and over again. We joined a young man Richard who was from London who showed us the ropes. He had been there since 8.00am and would be staying until 10pm. There were a number of people who didn’t have voting cards but thought their passport was enough. There was a homeless man who wanted to vote and I felt sorry for him.

After our two hours we drove over to Reform HQ but it was grid locked, so many had the same idea. We gave in and set off home when we received an email asking for help with door knocking etc. but we were too far down the road to turn back.

It was a fantastic experience just being involved with likeminded decent people who just want what’s best for us and future generations. Whatever the result tonight, I feel more optimistic than I have in a long time.

Thought I would just add to this that all you may be hearing about “family voting “ is absolutely true. The polling station was situated in a Muslim area and families/ couples all came through together. We had strict instructions about the etiquette to follow / not to display Party colours etc. and don’t engage in conversation, just ask for voting number as they came out. There were a couple of people standing with us wearing Green rosettes and chatting with the groups as they came in and one actually said to us “ it’s all about family isn’t it “
