Labour’s Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, has just set the stage for yet another betrayal of the British people. That’s the only conclusion one can draw after listening to Shabana Mahmood’s speech at the Labour Party conference.
Because what Labour has put into motion is an entirely new wave of immigration that will further undermine our already weak economy, erode trust in our democracy, put British people at risk, and utterly transform what’s left of an already broken nation.
Before getting into the detail of Labour’s disastrous policy, a reminder.
The Labour Party has still not fixed Britain’s broken borders. It has not stopped the boats. It has not removed an estimated 1.5 million illegal migrants in Britain. It has not returned levels of legal immigration back to the sensible levels that were seen before Tony Blair and Labour fired the starting gun on mass immigration, in 1997.
And because of all this Labour has still not restored public trust and confidence in a system that is now so broken it is pushing rising numbers of British people into leaving the ballot box to join protests, demonstrations, and civil disobedience.
Yet despite failing to do all this, astonishingly, this week Andy Burnham’s Labour Party and Shabana Mahmood decided to put the narrow interests of their fanatical left-wing activists and Labour’s Muslim voters ahead of the interests of the country by announcing an entirely new wave of refugee migration from the Third World and a dramatic softening of current immigration policy.
Contrary to what every single opinion poll in Britain now shows, that a large majority of British people want immigration reduced, Shabana Mahmood’s extreme policy will now re-open and turbo-charge the UK Resettlement Scheme, importing as yet unknown numbers of refugees into Britain from Afghanistan, Gaza, and many other Third World nations. It will open immediately, with one-quarter of the first arrivals coming from Afghanistan and Palestine.
Britain, remember, has already taken in nearly 400,000 refugees from Ukraine and Hong Kong. Some 50,000 Afghans and refugees through resettlement programmes. Another 210,000 illegal migrants on the small boats. And, thanks to the Boriswave, has already added nearly 3 million mainly low-wage, low-skill migrants from outside Europe to its population - net - through legal schemes since 2021 alone.
But if the Boriswave has become known for imposing a policy of mass migration from outside Europe that nobody voted for, then Shabana Mahmood’s new policy — what we might call the Shabbywave — is about to put all this on steroids.
It will be characterised by a fresh wave of mainly low-skill, low-wage, poorly-educated and Islamic migrants and refugees from radically different cultures who will not only be allowed into Britain but put on a path towards permanent settlement.
That’s right. Despite Britain already giving permanent settlement to roughly 700,000 people since 2021 alone, and about to give it to millions more Boriswave migrants who arrived between 2021 and 2024, Labour will fast-track another wave of migrants from the Third World into receiving Indefinite Leave to Remain.
They will be allowed to stay in Britain permanently and have unfettered access to welfare benefits, housing, education, and more, all of which will be subsidised and paid for by … the British people.
Despite already having to pay roughly £600 billion to cover the costs of the Boriswave, with most of those arrivals being a net fiscal cost to the British state, the hardworking and long-suffering British people will now have to pay who knows how much for yet another wave of migration they never asked for.
My critics will say “the people who come will work, they will contribute”. Well, look at the evidence. When Denmark imported hundreds of Palestinians during the 1990s, the majority soon had at least one criminal conviction and most lived on welfare.
When Denmark then tracked what happened to their children, more than one-third also had at least one criminal conviction, with many more relying on welfare. And, meanwhile, what evidence we have suggests people from Afghanistan are far more likely than everybody else to commit sexual violence against British women.
“But these will be female refugees”, Labour politicians will say. Not quite. Because thanks to this new wave of migration there will now be endless “chain migration” into Britain — another extreme and disastrous policy nobody voted for.
Here’s what nobody in the Labour Party or Shabana Mahmood’s team is telling you.
Inevitably, all those imported into Britain from the likes of Afghanistan and Palestine will bring their relatives, much like one woman from Gaza was recently able, thanks to human rights laws, to bring her parents, brother, his wife, their four children, her sister, her four children, another sister, her husband, and their three children into Britain. All of whom were then immediately able to access public funds and welfare.
This is what will now happen at scale across Britain.
Thousands of refugees being brought into the country who no matter what politicians tell you will then use the European Convention on Human Rights, the Human Rights Act, the Refugee Convention, and an army of activist lawyers to bring their entire families into Britain. People who say this will not happen are simply lying to you.
Migration from Islamic nations, from the Third World, will now rocket, which is perhaps the aim of Mahmood and a Labour Party that in recent years, as reflected in everything from its stance towards Israel to turning a blind-eye to the Pakistani Muslim rape gangs and sectarianism, has decided to prioritise Muslim voters.
And who will decide who will be brought to Britain? Will it be democratically elected Members of Parliament who are accountable to voters? Will it be a collection of British people? No. They will be selected by the United Nations Refugee Agency, alongside the International Refugee Assistance Project — unelected, unaccountable, international organisations that have no connection whatsoever to the British people.
The Shabbywave will not only send immigration levels even higher while loosening restrictions; it will further undermine our democracy by removing power, influence, accountability and sovereignty from the British people and sending them instead to remote, unelected, and unaccountable globalist bodies.
Organisations that lie well outside the realm of our national democracy and institutions will now be empowered. The British people will be completely marginalised. And Andy Burnham will waffle about “taking back control”.
There will be no control. There just be the further erosion of our national sovereignty, our laws, our freedoms, and our borders. And the idea that this will “stop the boats” is for the birds. Just ask yourself: did having “safe and legal routes” that brought hundreds of thousands of refugees into Britain from around the world during the Boriswave stop the boats? Of course not. The boat numbers exploded. And now they will keep on coming precisely because Shabana Mahmood and Labour have just sent another big signal to the Third World that we are Soft Touch Britain.
And, unfortunately, it gets even worse. Because it won’t just by the amorphous and unaccountable United Nations that will now wield considerable influence over our supposedly sovereign nation-state. From October, Labour will also allow “community and faith groups” in Britain to sponsor refugees and bring them into the country. Not the democratically elected government. Community and faith groups.
Remember all those dodgy kebab shops, Indian restaurants, Islamic schools, unknown ‘universities’, language schools, and corrupt businesses that were found to be sponsoring countless work and study visas for migrants during the Boriswave?
Well, now we are going to see countless charities, foundations, private companies, universities and perhaps even mosques and Islamic schools rushing to sponsor “refugees” from Afghanistan, Gaza, and other Third World nations.
A British state that cannot even scrutinise who is already coming into the country, and which cannot even properly scrutinise charities that appear to be funding Islamists, will now assume responsibility for scrutinising countless “community and faith groups” that are importing and sponsoring refugees.
Can anybody else see a disaster on the horizon? Can anybody else see a British state transferring power and control over our own borders and population to a sprawling network of organisations and companies that are not accountable to us at all?
How many people will come? Who knows. All we do know is that Labour openly state the scheme will operate at “much higher capacity” than anything the British state currently has in place. And while Shabana Mahmood is doing all this, she also clearly signalled this week that she will water down other immigration restrictions.
Foreign workers will now find it easier, not harder, to claim permanent residence in Britain. The Boriswave will be made permanent and all those millions of people who were brought into the country with no democratic mandate, and who are taking more out of the economy than they are putting in, will now remain here forever.
Proposed reforms to the disastrous Boriswave are clearly about to be scrapped by a Labour Party that has abandoned any pretence to represent the British people and has moved sharply to the radical left to appease its own base.
We are now living under a Labour government that is more interested in winning over Mad Zack Polanski’s Green party voters than representing the wider country. We are living under a Labour government that is focused on consolidating increasingly radical left-wing voters ahead of an early general election than consolidating support around some kind of national majority that reflects the mood of the British people.
Make no mistake: this student union politics could easily push our country, already a tinderbox, completely over the edge.
A governing Labour Party that has no interest at all in appealing beyond its narrow coalition of radical left-wing progressives and voters from minority backgrounds.
Entirely new migration routes into Britain. A new wave of migration nobody asked for. A sponsorship scheme that has disaster written all over it.
The United Nations inserting itself into our national democracy. Permanent settlement and British citizenship being handed out like confetti, along with the ridiculous claim that people from Afghanistan and Gaza will be just as ‘British’ or ‘English’ as the rest of us.
Endless, never-ending chain migration into Britain turning the initial numbers into enormous ones. The removal of what little restrictions to immigration were at least being discussed. And underneath it all, the British people being smashed all over again with more costs, more pressures, more misery, more turbulence.
This is the Shabbywave. A new policy that nobody in this country voted for or asked for but will further undermine, destabilise, and transform the country from within.
A Labour Party and a Labour Home Secretary that readily lectures us all about “fairness” except when that word happens to involve the British people. Fairness, in the mindset of the Labour Party, is being respectful to everybody and anybody except the very people who built, maintain, and define this nation.
It also blows apart everything we were told about Shabana Mahmood. For much of the last five years one commentator after another — think Maurice Glasman, Jason Cowley, Fraser Nelson, among others — has rushed to tell us that Shabana Mahmood was a ‘hardliner’ on immigration. She wasn’t like the other pro-immigration zealots in the Labour Party, we were told. No, Shabana gets it.
She understands that mass migration and broken borders have shattered public trust. Does she? Does she really? I was never convinced by this narrative. Baby Boomer middle-aged white men saw in Shabana Mahmood what they desperately wanted to see, much like many of them told us Rishi Sunak would save the country.
But in the end, Mahmood is just like everybody else in a Labour Party that is now radicalising to such an extent it clearly has no interest in even representing the public mood. The Shabbywave will now do to Britain exactly what the Boriswave did, only faster and harder.
It will further destabilise our country, hollow out our economy, exacerbate the housing crisis, plunge our public services further into managed decline, and erode what little trust in the system remains. It will make us all poorer and more divided all in the name of showing empathy to people who are not from our country.
It will turbo-charge the importing into Britain of people who have radically different values, beliefs, cultures, and practices, and push this country further and further into the kind of febrile, fragile, and tense future that we can already see emerging in the likes of Dover, Portsmouth, Folkestone, and beyond.
And it will usher into Britain more and more people who are far more likely than everybody else to hate Jews, endorse antisemitic tropes, support Islamists, hold misogynistic views towards women, and sexually assault British women and girls.
During her speech, Mahmood proclaimed that the real extremists in Britain are those protesting against the imposition of mass immigration. But she was wrong, again.
Because the real extremists of our age are not those men and women who are trying to defend their country, fix their borders, and slow the pace of change.
No, the real extremists are politicians like Shabana Mahmood who say they will do one thing only to then impose yet another radical and disastrous policy on the British people from above, with no democratic mandate, no meaningful consent, and no serious regard for what the people have repeatedly told Westminster they want.
Get ready Britain. You have been warned. The Shabbywave is coming and it will not be good for the country. It will not be good at all.

The simple fact is Labour never had any intention of stopping migration. Whilst the boat landings are a good distraction the real scandal is the amount allowed to settle together with dependents who have been quietly allowed to arrive whilst the attention has been focused on illegal migration. Labour will not be happy till the white citizens of this country are outbred and out numbered, that is Labour's mission anyone believing otherwise are sadly deluded, soon white British people will be strangers in a country they spent thousands of years creating, all torn asunder in less than 30 by traitorous politicians both Labour and CONservative, I see no way back now, it's too damned late to undo the damage, a huge change is coming and many of us born and bred to generations of British are going to find in the near future their country completely unrecognisable from the one many of us grew up in.
The literacy rate in Afghanistan is 37% so that means 63% cannot read or write and many really are goat herders - how can they make a positive contribution to this country?. I cannot comprehend that these illegal immigrants automatically go to the head of the queue and receive almost unlimited welfare that we, the paying native population, cannot get. Not that I either want or need it. I also do not believe that this is what the voter wants but, unless the 'Right' unite, this is what the voter will get. I voted Reform.
